Nelson Mandela once said: “Educating all of our children must be one of our most urgent priorities. We all know that education, more than anything else, improves your chances of building better lives.”
As a foundation we recognize the importance and urgency in providing learners with access to quality education and ensuring that they have the tools and resources that they need at school to enable them to learn without any barriers or hinderances. Our Education focus area aims to improve the quality of learning facilities, provide access to education for the poor, and offer leadership and job shadowing opportunities.
We have 5 education projects that are supporting 5 schools in Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
- Khwai Pre-school in Khwai, Botswana: 37 learners aged 1 to 5 years old
- Kachikau Primary School Disability Unit in Linyanti, Botswana: 32 learners
- Maunga Primary School in Maunga Village, Zambia: 200 learners from ECD to grade 7
- Mambanje Primary School in Mambanje village, Zimbabwe: 150 learners from ECD to grade 7
- Mangwara Primary School in Mola, Zimbabwe: 300 learners from ECD to grade 7
Many schools face a shortage of learning materials with 5 learners sharing one textbook at a time and some children being sent home from school because they don’t have stationery to use in class for learning. We will be running a stationery drive to raise 1000 stationery packs for our learners in Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana, to ensure that no child gets left behind.
You can help us reach our goal of 1000 stationery packs by donating 10$ towards purchasing a stationery pack. Each pack includes crayons, exercise books, pens, pencils, a sharpener, an eraser, and a ruler. 1000 people each donating 1 pack helps us reach our goal of 1000 packs. To donate a pack and for more information on our projects, visit our Global Giving Education page.
Help us give Harry the highlighter some colour by donating stationery packs towards our drive!
